Greetings all,
While at the Fort's auto shop today, came across an 87 244DL that might be coming up for sale. It was parked in the outdoor storage area last February 16th when the owner was transferred from VA to PA. The car looks OK--while it had been hit just forward of the right front wheel (not too bad--bumper, hood, and trim are all OK--just needs a new fender), there is NO rust on the floors or around the wheel wells. Wiring looked OK too, no missing insulation on any of the wiring I could see, including the wires along the firewall or at the back of the alternator.
Engine and other running gear are unknowns--battery is dead--but engine is full of oil, clutch pedal worked smoothly, and brake-fluid was clean and topped up.
Interior was worn (looked like all of the 188k on the clock--could even be more than that if the odo isn't working), with the driver's seat needing a "rebuild."
The counter man said the owner may be interested in selling it, but what's something like that worth? Needless to say I'd haul a fresh battery up and try to start it before I made a decision, but curious about where to start price-wise . . . .
Thanks in advance,
Steve A-
