Strut mount survey. 90-240

Anyone whos had strut mounts replace, could you take a look at your mounts and see if they bulge out. I cant recall what mine looked like before they were changed.

I had my strut inserts, mounts and springs(stock) installed, and the day after I started to hear a clunk on hard turns. We checked and tightened everything in sight. Then we noticed that the rubber on the "new" strut mounts were bulging upward about 1/2". The bulge covers about the same area as the bearing in the mount. This is on both sides.

The folks who installed the parts believe that this bulging in the strut mount isnt normal, and that it is probably the cause of the clunk that Im hearing.
They showed me the original struts, and sure enough the rubber was flat as a pancake. But then they weren't, at the time, holding up a 240, they had been relieved of duty.

Presently, Im scheduled to have this work redone, using volvo brand mounts(about $100 ea), and a repaying of the labor costs. The mounts I had put on, the ones that bulge, were 46.00 total.

I dont have a problem with this, so long as it is the mounts that are causing the problem and not something else(like they forgot the washer, or something).

All opinions and observations are invited.

Thanks
