There are a couple of variations to the lighting on those switches on the right side of the steering wheel. The sunroof switch you installed should be lighted. Did you detach any wires from the other switches when you removed the panel? I think there's a small wiring harness that goes from the switches on that side to the main harness. Remove the panel once again and make sure everything is plugged up. If that's all ok you might want to check the bulbs first before chasing the problem further.
