760 audio question 700 1990

In my 1990 760 under the dash there is a box with about 14 wires going into it that is attached with two screws to my facotry amp for my stereo. The box has several markings on it including, 3501472, and 564 004 872-00. If anyone knows what this box is, what is controlls or if it is a part of the audio system is greatly appreciated.
