lambda test procedure? 700

Does anyone know the test procedure to see if the lambda is good or bad? The search function is unable to connect to blah blah blah, so I can't look through the archives at the moment. Any help is appreciated. Also, lambda is pretty carboned up. Does anyone have any thoughts on getting carbon out from inside the sensor? I was thinking carb cleaner, but don't want to kill my relatively new (5,000 miles), over $100.00 part.

Thanks
