Let the Brick live on. 900 1991

The brick must live on. I plan on keeping the brick running to 500k, that is my goal. Most people who look at my car and engine cannot believe it is 11 years old. However, her little turbo that could is starting to can't and a lower engine knock has me concerned.

With this in mind, I am going to look for a used engine and turbo. I found a 94 B230FT with 112k. It is coming out of a roll over victim. I will be looking at the engine this Saturday. Should I have any concern with an engine that quite upside down? I have read the FAQ on the turbo and know what to look for. I also plan to see if the infamous flame trap has damaged the oil seals. Any other suggestions very welcome.

My ultimate plan is to put a used engine in, and rebuild the current one before too much damage happens. This should keep the brick running for quite some time.
