Scuderia Volvo 444-544

Hello All:
This will be somewhat of an unusual request for information.

Recently on the E___ auction site, I won a badge that came from the Pacific Northwest of the US and reads Scuderia Volvo. Ith had a profile of a 544 in the center. Remaining paint is heavily faded and is in the colors of the Swedish flag: blue and yellow. The badge is 3 1/2" in diameter and is cast metal probably aluminum or pot metal.

As i am a confirmed Volvo enthusiast and a collector of worldwide car club badges, this appealed to me for the collection. It is in need of restoration, but my plea here is to try to learn anything I can about the Scuderia Volvo: where when who etc.

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.
