electrical power failure 900

Just started this morning;

headlights/radio ON

put on left signals and ALL electrical systems dropped out intermittently, signals were flashing faster than usual, dropout seemed to be timed to the signal flashes. Did the same with right turn signals, too. Everything back to normal a few seconds after the signals were turned off. A short while later the same thing happened when I hit the brakes. By now, it was light enough outside to turn off the headlights and I did not have a problem after that in spite of engaging the signals and brakes. Any ideas? Relays? Acted like an intermittent dead short. Recently changed out the starter motor but don't see where that could be a source of the problem.
