Starting Up Problem 200 1987

yes, yes, yes. i do have this problem! i find that if it is hot, or if i use poor quality gas, it gets worse. my mechanic showed me this little trick to bypass things temporarily:

forgive my lack of technical jargon.

the pulley/wheel that is controlled by a cable that is changed by the pressure your foot puts on the gas pedal has a screw near it that keeps the wheel/pulley from falling too low. if you simply turn the screw a VERY little bit it will simulate a little more pressure on the gas pedal. this will allow you to actually get out of reverse before the car stalls!

now keep in mind, this should be temporary and should not be substituted for actual mechanical knowledge!
