Steering Rack Replacement 200

Hello All,

I am about to attempt a rack replacement, 84 245 ZF rack. From shopping the websites for a reman. rack, it appears that they are selling one universal rack to fit ZF and CAM GEAR cars 79 and later. Is this correct? The things that concern me are (1) mounting bracket (2) input shaft (3) hose connections, are these all a direct transfer between different rack styles?

Also, what is the best way to seperate the tie rod ends? Of course Bentley mentions the Volvo tool, whats available to me is a seperator fork with a opening of 21/32 (TRAK AUTO) is this workable?

Please let me know of any pitfalls, and give me any helpful hints.

Thanks in advance,
