TIP: Radio resoldering, CR-712, cold solder 200 1989

After sufforing from intermittent front speakers with stock CR712 radio in my '89 240 DL, I wanted to keep the stock look so I decided to locate the source of the problem.

There was a lot, I mean A LOT of cold solder within the radio head unit, mainly on the connectors that connect the two PCBs, the bottom horizontal one with the rear verticle one, and also on the amplifier ICs on the bottom main PCB. Resolder all this, and the unit works perfectly.

Make sure you have experience soldering PCBs otherwise you can burn the printed tracks.
