Gear Shifter & the Overdrive Switch 200 1991

This is assuming that your 1991 circuit is the same as my 1988 240.

Randy's suggestion is a good one. I would do it a different way.

Pull the kick panel on the right side of the center controls, and see if you can find a 3-wire connector close to the shifter well under the carpet. Two green wires, one white.

The two green wires go to the switch. Disconnect the connector, and use an ohmeter and see if there is continuity between the two green wires when the switch is pushed. Do be sure to test the connector headed to the shifter.

BTW the best wiring diagrams are in the Volvo Service Manuals. See if you can get the one for your car. It's worth the money.

Good Luck,

Bob
