is it ok to flush tranny fluid? 900

Well I've decided to change the tranny fluid on my 93 944T. It has 124,000 miles, I've only had it for 3,000 miles. I dont know if the tranny fluid has ever been changed before (i hope it has). Is it ok to flush the fluid? I dont want to kill a trans by changing fluid when it shouldnt be. I've had no problems with the trans at all, but think i should change the fluid anyway as PM. Any reccommendations on this (should I or shouldnt I) and what fluid to use? I've read the FAQ but it doesnt quite fit my situation.
Thanks
