Brake Fade 87 240 wagon 200 1987

Just bought a 240 wagon about a month ago. All was well until I got stuck in a traffic jam about a week ago. The car started to get hot (but not overheating) and then the brakes began to fade (Halfway to stop, then the car would slowly start to roll as the pedal fell to the floor)

I am thinking its the master cylinder, since the brake fluid level in the resovoir is still full, which should mean no leaks.

Anyone know of any potential problem areas or am I right on with the master?

James
