keep or upgrade 700 1987

Our 740 Turbo wagon has now done some 205,000 kms and when I took it for a service the mechanic noted that there was a film on the oil which indicated the bearings were starting to wear. Otherwise the engine is fine, it does not burn oil and goes ok. The mechanic reckons it probably has another 12 months before we will have to do something.

I am wondering whether it may be better to sell the car and upgrade to a later model like the 850.

What does everyone think ?
