'87 Wagon Brakes 200 1987

Got a question about an '87 Wagon that I just picked up. This is my second Volvo and I'm hooked. My '81 244 is still truckin' by the way. The wagon needed brakes when I got it, I replaced pads all the way around front girling
:( and rear ATE :). Also bled the brakes using the sequence found in the Haynes manual. Now, when I apply the brakes the pedal goes almost to the floor and the failure light comes on. I was messing around and pushed the brake while under acceleration and I got pedal feel back and the light went out. However, under heavy braking the light comes back on. Plus, those brakes squeal like a mother. Any ideas? Thanks.
