Front door stereo speaker cutting out? 700

Hello everyone,

My 1988 760 Turbo has a strange problem with the stereo (always has in the 6 years I've owned it). The front door speakers intermittently cut out. When they do this, they both go at the same time and the cut completely out. The dash and rear door speakers continue to play. I sort of suspect the auxillary amplifier connections, but I'm not sure (as this auxillary amp also runs the back door speakers). Does the amp possibly have two intermittent channels? Is there a bad connection somewhere? I really like the sound of this unit (when all of the speakers are working properly), so I'd like to fix this problem. If anyone can guide me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Joe Schaefer - 1981 240 Turbo w/232k miles, 1988 760 Turbo w/226k miles
