Creak from front end - what is it? 700

My '86 745 with 200K makes a creak. It occurs when turning to the left and going over a bump or dip in the road. It does not creak when the car is stationary and I turn the steering wheel. Bouncing the front end does not reproduce the creak. It steers OK (without shaking etc).
