ZF to AW conversion update!!

What I have is an AW72L from a 89 740(lock up torque converter).

OK, all seals and tailshaft bushing replaced. The overdrive harness wired in and tested. Friday evening Im gonna start, with a completion, hopefully, early saturday.

I question: I put the new pan gasket on, forgetting that I need to tranfer the kickdown cable from the Zf to the aw. Will I need a new gasket when I remove the pan to disconnect the cable. Or do you think this one will be good to just retorque? Huh?

Also, anyone who has done this, any info that you have to make this job trouble free, I would appreciate if you would pass it along.

As I look at this, it doesnt seem like it should be that difficult. It appears that the most difficult part will be wrestling the ZF to the ground and then wrestling the AW into place.

And still the issue of driveshaft balance lurks in the back ground. Any thoughts on that wonderful subject.

Thanks
