manual heater controls..totally different to Faq/Haynes...adjustment & ac 900

To my knowledge, ALL the Volvo 700/900 heater cores are controlled by a vacuum-actuated water valve on the engine side of the firewall. To shut off hot water to the core, the controller signals vacuum to the valve, which closes down. To test this, place your hand on the outlet pipe of the heater on the engine side: it should be noticeably cooler than the inlet pipe when the heater control is "off". If not, you need a new water valve.
