Warning Beeper 200 1984

The warning beeper, that sounds when the lights are left on and the door is open, or when the keys are left in the ignition and the door is open, now comes on when I depress my brake peddle. The brakes work fine but I don't seem to be getting any power to the brake lights. I changed the Brake light switch, the one that opens when the brake peddle is push down, but that didn't fix the problem. The fuse panel fuses all appear to be OK.
I can't seem to find anything in the repair manual that talks about a brake/brakelight interface with the warning beeper? Is this a normal warning system function? What is the sensing system sensing to decide it should turn on the warning beeper? I can't figure out why the power isn't getting to the brake lights. Can anyone give me some troubleshoot ideas to help me fix the problem?
