anyone ever replace direction indicator arrow bulbs in the instrument panel? 200

While I was replacing my odometer gear in my 245 I thought it would be a good idea to replace the bulbs which illuminate the panel at night as one was old and tired and the other was burned out...

unfortunately I inadvertently pulled the direction indicator bulbs so I replaced those and now they don't work! (they worked before,... I don't post a picture of myself in my profile because it's easily found in the dictionary next to the definition of "stupid")

so now I have to dive back in and get the new bulbs I put in there to make sufficient contact to work correctly.

has anyone ever replaced these? is there a trick to making contact? I think I broke the metal legs off the bulbs as I was pulling them out of the bulb holder?

tia

stupid, Uh I mean Jack
