1. Starting about 1968.
2. No, some had automatic trannies.
3. B18, B20B, B20E and B20F. B20E was best with B20F close behind.
4. Not if it is poorly fixed but it will be more expensive to have it
fixed again. If you get one with rust, get it fixed right the first time,
or hold out for one with little or no rust. Arizona and California may
be good places to look.
BTW I hope you or your wife are handy with tools. Any car that old is going
to require some maintenance from time to time.
