stoplight problem on 1990 740 Wagon. 700 1990

You can jump the brakelight switch, not as much of a problem on the 700s as the 240s. Bad grounds and sockets are anothe possibility. I had a bad bulb integrity relay on my car, only way to diagnose that is to rule out all else and swap with a know good one. It's the round one on the left in the back on the 740s.
