'Special' Front end alignment?? 200 1982

My steering wheel is crooked and I'm getting a little extra wear on the inside edge of my front tires. Time for a front end alignment. Took it to one shop, they said no problem, but thier alignment tech was off that day. Went to another shop (same chain) and the tech said "can't do volvo's or BMW's. They need extra weights in the car and special procedures"

Who is right? Can a standard wheel shop do the front end on an '82 240, or does it really require special gear?
