81 b21F, flame trape, fuel distributor in the way 200

Hi

Just purchased a 81 244 for $500 in very clean cosmetic condtion, but runs very ruff. I've taken off the intake manifold, and taken off the flame trap that was completely clogged. Now it looks like the little box (forgot the proper name) that the flame trap attaches too is also clogged. It is very hard to get to with the fuel distributor in the way. Is it possible to unbolt the fuel distrigbutor, and get to the part, with out a lot of labor and cursing? any short cuts someone could suggest?
