Oil additives 700

True--the TDs are more prone to oil seepage from the head gasket which makes sense in light of the 22:1 compression ratio. That's rather steep.

If you suspect leakage from a seal somewhere, 2/3 to 1 pint of brake fluid 500 to 1000 miles before you change the oil SOMETIMES causes enough swelling of the seals to stop or slow a leak. I would put 1/2 pint in a B230F but in the D24T with a 7.5qt capacity with filter, it needs more. It sounds strange but it is pretty much harmless. I've done it on my own cars countless times, and other people have reported measurable success with it as well.

One last thing... VW diesels are notorious leakers. Even when almost new.
