Which volvo would you buy if you were me - $10,000

Hi Shawn:
Well, remember that you are posting on the rear wheel drive board, so you are perhaps more likely to get people partial to RWD. I know that many people feel that the FWD is better in snowy conditions. Being a DC native, though, I am not sure that you will have enough snowy weather that this should be a major consideration for you.

I would also recommend a 940 wagon, or, it is still possible to find a lower mileage 91 or 92 740 wagon. I am hesitant to recommend the 960 wagon, even though I have one, I like it, and have had no significant problems with it. However, it seems like you either get a really good one and like it or you get a dog and hate it. I think that the 90s RWD wagons were more dependable and durable than the 90s FWD wagons (the 850 and V70). I know, though, that there are people who have these wagons and love them.

I also agree that the DC area is a fairly high priced area to buy in. Check out Scandinavian Inports in Rockville (they do both sales and service) http://www.scandinavianimports.com/; Also check out Swedish Car Sales in Lorton, VA, who do sales and service: www.SwedishCarSales.com.

Good luck with your search. Wait until you find the car you want!
