Change to Amsoil question? 700 1987

I have a 1987 760GLE Estate, B280E engine, petrol injection, 6 cylindre (UK Spec.), 76000 miles. It is due for its next oil change soon, and I have decided to change to Amsoil after finally tracking down the UK agent. Previously my car has been running with mineral and then semisynthetic oil for the last few years.

My questions to fellow volvoowners with experience of amsoil or other synthetics is:
1. Should I do an engine flush and if so how? Or is there any other steps I should follow in swapping over to amsoil, ways of flushing, gradual change etc?
2. What grade should I use? My manual says 10W/30 or 10W/40, but I believe a grade 0W/30 exists which has good properties.
3. For those of you with experience of amsoil or synthetic, what benefits have you noticed?
4. I am worried about oil leakage, any experience of this? At present I have only a very slight leakage from front seal, but never need to top up oil.

Thanks for any valued help.
