'75 vs. '74 164 140-160

I hadn't realized that the pre-1975 164's still had the manual contact breaker type distributors in them. I've never owned a car without an electronic ignition before. How much of an obstacle is this in terms of maintenance and reliability? Is it really a reason to choose a '75 over earlier models?
Also, I hate to be picky about 25+ year old cars, but a feature I've always liked is a sunroof, which is very nice to have here in the South. My neighbor's 1975 does not have a sunroof, but I could swear that I've seen them on 164's before. Does anybody know the frequency of sunroofs appearing in the 164 in various model years? I'm just curious.
