O2 sensor 700 1991

On my previous post some people told me to check the O2 sensor. How do I check to see if it is good? I also noticed a site where someone used a single wire sensor and said they noticed a pick up in performance. How is this possible? Also, does my car have a knock sensor and how would I check that? This is all in relation to a glowing manifold problem/situation. Thanks for the help on the other post!! BTW, where would be a good cheap place to get a new O2 sensor?
