Ding, Ding, Ding when I depress brake pedal 200 1984

I was driving in traffic and all of a sudden my seatbelt warning sound starts dinging. I was really low on gas so I figured it might be a warning signal to fill the tank. I put in more gas but now everytime I press the brake pedal, my car still dings and won't stop dinging until I release the pedal.

Since I originally thought the dinging was because of an empty tank, I didn't pay attention to whether it only happened when I was braking or not.

Does anyone have experience or advice for this particular electrical gremlin?

Thanks in advance,
Märt
