Are 225-55-15 tires too big for a 1988 740 wagon (current 185/70-R-14)? 700

Hey Guys!

Could I get 225/55/R-15 tires on my 1988 wagon? I have 185/70/R-14 tires on the car right now. Would 215 and or 205s' be better, help! I am making winter preparations, I am going to order some good ones from tirerack.com but I just needed some good insight with regards to the maxium and or the most logical size, without the tires rubbing and or causes problems with turning the wheel.

Best Regards.
