Help! Oil leaking from filter! 900 1993

Only a few reasons why filter would leak--one is it is cracked--unlikely--most common is filter was put on too tight and warped the rubber gasket--could also be too loose- allowing leak--if loose--tighten it--but not TOO tight-usually hand tight is plenty-be SURE put a little oil on the gasket before you put it on------If too tight---replace it--the gasket will prob retain its' warp even if you loosen it-and you might loosen it too much anyway--just replace it!.
