Trying to adjust the kickdown cable in my 87 765T. I have to adjust it very loose in order to very smooth shifts. I have adjusted as loose as it can go..even to the point where the cable just falls off the spool and still am not getting as smooth a shifts as I would like. Does this mean I need a new kickdown cable? or what if I just disconnected the kick cable all together? My turbo Volvo seems to have alot of problems with getting the shifting correct. My non turbo 940 101K miles has the original kickdown cable in the original adjustment and shifts smooth enough that you don't even notice you are shifting.
