Now, that IS a bugger, isn't it! Any right of redress from the dealer? (who WAS that dealer, anyway)?

Have you checked out the possibilities of a used transmission? I saw a written off 740 wagon at my panelbeaters recently so I guess there are a few around this Volvo-less country.
