formerly abused 745 with AW-71 700 1986

I recently purchased a 745 turbo that seemingly was well taken care of until recently. It has 334,000 miles on it. The transmission shifts hard into reverse and when I drive, if I punch the gas, the tranny won't shift until I let off the gas, even if I'm not on it hard. It also shifts alittle hard on downshift (kickdown). It shifts smooth through all the gears, but only if I let off the gas. Any ideas?
