Replace the Fan/Clutch with an Electric Fan? 200 1983

I'm considering replacing the stock fan/clutch with an electric fan that mounts aft of the radiator in my 83 245T (non-intercooled). I have an aux cooling fan (from an 85 244T) that mounts in front of the AC condenser, so this is also an option. Either setup could (I think) use the switch that came already installed in the Nissens radiator, so my questions are:

Since I don't seem to have cooling problems (the arguement for just the aux fan), would the electric fan replacement be preferable, and is there enough reduction in power loss and torque on the water pump to make it worth doing? I don't mind the work - this has become less a daily driver and more a project/learning car for me, but I would appreciate any info about pros, cons and any other thoughts about . . . well . . . anything . . .

Thanks - Jim Weiss
