Anybody ever snap off a block drain? 200 1987

I am trying to get rid of the crap orange antifreeze in my 245, and while trying to loosen the block drain, I noticed that it was extremely tight and would barely turn. I am afraid to force the issue. I am afraid it will strip or break off, I have soaked it down with kroil and am working on it cold, maybe starting it up and heating up the block will help the block to expand around it, but I didn't want to work on it hot. Any suggestions?
