What's AMP Rating got to do with where to use a relay?? 200 1983

Hello Bricksters:
Need some electrical gurus to clarify the use of relays. I am replacing the Fuel injection relays for an 83 245. It uses 2 relays, 1 for the fuel pump and another for the ECU. Both are the same Bosch relay with the terminals labeled 85,86,87,87b and 30.These relays are rated at 20/30 Amps. The one I want to use to replace one of these relays has the same terminal numbers but is rated at only 16 amps.
Will it handle the same amps as the 20/30?
Will I fry something?
Is it better to use this one for the fuel pump or the ECU?
