Fuel Pump Relay HOT? 200

I have a 85 240 Turbo and after I run the car for a while I noticed that the fuel pump relay gets pritty hot and also the conector and wires are hot.Is this normal or could there be a short? when I first start the car it starts and sometimes stalls as if it is getting to much fuel. When the engine is warmed up the car will start with out stalling, but when the car sits for a while(1 to 3 hours) and I go to start it,it seems like it's not getting any gas.I don't know if this is one problem or a combo of problems.Anyone have any ideas?
