Hard Starting and Possible Issues If Not Corrected 200

92 240 w/114k and if it sits for more than a day, when trying to start, will have to crank for several seconds. Once it does start, runs fine. However, under same conditions if I turn key on, but not start, I can hear fuel pump run for 2-3 seconds and stop. If I then proceed to now start, fires right up. Question, is it the fuel pressure check valve or fuel regulator and if not fixed/replaced, will this cause bigger problems down the road to other items such as premature wear or failure all together???
