Fuel problems -- replaced main pump 700 1990

Hello All

I fixed my beast.

I let the fuel go way below what would be considered "empty" (being a little facetious here)and then filled up as soon as I could. And the main pump stopped working. Sand locked or something, right? Well I didn't know. Fixing cars is 98% diagnostic, 1% knowledge and 1% luck. I pulled the pump off and hot wired it and it "worked" fine. It turned and spit out the fuel left inside. So I cleaned it, replaced the fuel filter and tried starting. Nothing. No fuel pressure. Well I decided that the pump sounded much louder than it used to (when switching on the ignition)and since the intank pump also appeared fine (yes, I pulled it out and hot wired that son of a bitch, didn't blow up either). So I felt it was the main pump. Hell with it, I'm replacing it and if that doesn't work, well she was going to need a new pump sooner or later anyway.

She started up immediately.
