Left control arm bushing 200

1990 240 sedan: Left rear control arm bushing.

Just replace front and rear bushings, along with bearings, shocks, and ball joints. After driving for several hundred miles, I notice a light "clunk" sound when going over bumps. It appears to come from left front. I re-torqued all
obvious bolts and nuts. While doing this I noticed the left rear control arm bushing had moved out of the seated position on the bushing bracket to a position about 1/2" forward. I re-checked torque values with no obvious change.
While rocking the car back and forth I noticed the bushing slides in and out of the rear control arm bushing bracket a minute amount. I suspect that this is where the noise is coming from, but cannot isolate the reason for movement. Why will the bushing not stay in the fully seated position. It was very tough to press this bushing out during replacement, so to see it move forward a small amount puzzles me. Could I have gotten a bad or incorret bushing, or is it possible the control arm was bent? Any ideas?
