Whats the story with the 740 front end? (Warping brake discs) 700

posted by  someone claiming to be Volvo 745 T/I on  Wed Sep 18 06:48 CST 2002 [RELATED]

So was this some sort of design flaw in the way the front end of the car was constructed? Even with replacing the discs and bushings the shuddering/vibrating will go away for a while, only to return back a little while later. Is this something us 700 series drivers have to put up with, or is there a permanent fix? I could go and replace all that, but if it comes back soon what is the point?
