Fuel problems -- replaced main pump 700 1990

She's got 125K.

I've had her since 110K.

I believe that the low fuel allowed "shit" to get into the pump. The pump would not work even when hot wired (benched) but after cleaning the outside and shaking the gas out with little bits of brass or other metal, she would work. Well, worked in the sense that the motor turned and it made lots of noise, but it wasn't so good pumping gas.

cheers
