HELP!!!! NO ACCELERATION POWER! 89 740 Bad Cap & Rotor? Bad PCV? Bad Hose? 700 1989

Hello-

My 89 740 turbo wagon (140k) has developed an intermitant extreamely irritating problem!! When accelerating power is gone, rpm jumps to around 3K and then sounds like the engine is being strangled. Almost as if spark plug wire is not connected. Just changed wires (OEM) Have not changed rotor & cap (Any special trick to that?) Getting parts tommorrow for oil trap and PCV replacement. Could this be the battery? Girl who had it before me only drove 7k a year (I drive 2k a month)I also hear a hissing coming from the turbo when I shut the engine off? This acceleration problem comes and goes. Now it is just staying around longer.

I am at wits end PLEASE HELP It is much appreciated!!!!!-

-Kindest Regards-

Paul M. Shust
