Searching for mysterius headlight relay 200 1993

OK...I've consulted the wiring diagrams in both Haynes and Bentley manuals, I've searched the 700 FAQ, I've talked to guys at FCPGroton and I've also asked here on the Brickboard and not one seems to know which relay turns off the headlights when the ignition key is turned off. Here's what I have done:
I've replaced the alternator with a reman Bosch one.

I've replaced the big silver relay on the Passenger's side (93's have it opposite the normal mounting for this relay on the 200 series).

I've replaced both sockets for the headlight bulbs.

AND still the headlights refuse to turn off after the key is turned off...it used to function a few months ago but not now.
Anyone have experience with electrical stuff?? Where is the relay??
Is it behind the dash somewhere?
Is it the black plastic relay just behind the battery on the driver's side?
ARGGH!!!
