oring for overdrive: This can't be right 700


In my never ending quest to make a 6 hour job last 3 weeks, I finally got the o-rings for the overdrive on my 745-T. What came off were the blue teflon seals and a small o-ring underneath. The replacement sent to me is a BMOR, a Big Mother O Ring which is much thicker than the groove in the piston. See the picture at:

It is not going to compress into the groove, and never go back into the bore.

I must have either the right ring and the wrong piston, or the right piston and the wrong ring.

Or do I need a chain saw, winch and 20 lb sledge to install these?
