89 760 Ignition control Unit (Solved) 700

As it turns out, my fix was short lived. The car isn't registered, so i can't take it far (fortunately) I drove it down the street and back yesterday, and all seemed fine. Today, I go to move it, and the ignition is dead (again). Is there a way to test the part? Like checking for a certain amount of resistance across 2 pins? (I see mcduck said to check on pin 5 for 5 v on the harness side. That's on the list, thanks for the tip)And what's the deal with "heat dissipation compound"? I've never seen this stuff before. Is it automotive stuff or available @ radio shack ? Also, I understand that the part is connected to the fender as part function of heat dissipation, but what about ground?
